Ship Wreck
Shallow coral reefs can be a hazard to ship navigation. This fishing vessel went aground in October 1998 on Kure Atoll. Dive surveys in the vicinity of the wreck were conducted to look for debris which may pose entrapment hazards to the endangered Hawaiian Monk seal.
