TC-01-01 Coral Reef Assessment January 31-March 1, 2001

Two of the ship's small boats can be seen tending divers on the west side of Baker Island. During the assessment work the divers work together as teams and at other times would spread out over large areas of the reef. The Townsend Cromwell is to the left, in deeper water offshore. Since the wind and waves usually come from the east here, the west side of these
islands is protected from the weather.
