We use hydraulic powered reels to haul in the fishing hooks from +600 feet of ocean depth. Six hundred feet is a long way to bring fish up and once in a while, our fisherman have to compete with the fish's natural predators. In this picture, Herman our Chief Boatswain is trying to get a Galapagos shark off his line. Its rare when we bring a shark to the surface as they usually bite the fish right off the line. |
