Nesting frigates.
A male frigate bird displaying his bright red throat pouch for the females. Called "Ewa" (thief in Hawaiian) birds, they have a 7 ft wing span and specialize in stealing food from the beaks of other sea birds. Their midair chases are quite spectacular to watch.     A juvenile booby also rests in the tree awaiting its parents to deliver a meal of squid or flying fish. Boobies are keen fisherman, often plummeting into the ocean at high speed after their prey. Above both, a white tern is looking for a perch.
