A night-time picture of the CTD as it is being brought aboard after completing its trip down to 1000 meters and back. On the return trip the winch is stopped at 12 different depths to collect samples of water. The sample bottles are the tall gray cylinders that ring the CTD. The bottles are closed remotely by the computer operator in the Electronics Lab on the ship.
