This image represents the CTD data from the
first part of this cruise. The top panel shows water temperatures measured down to about
500 meters along the 600 mile long Bigeye transect. The lower panel is chlorophyll
concentration which represents the amount and distribution of phytoplankton in the top 200
meters of the ocean along the same transect. In both images, south is to the left and
north is to the right, and the numbers along the bottom are the latitudes.
