On Laysan Island the scientists have been collecting nets and other debris that washes up on the beaches and poses a danger to Hawaiian Monk Seal pups and other wildlife. We hope to haul debris like this back to Honolulu for disposal, but space aboard the TOWNSEND CROMWELL is tight and will mostly be filled with camp gear retrieved from Pearl and Hermes, Kure, Laysan and Lisianski.
