The CTD package includes sensors that measure:
pressure, temperature, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, chlorophyll, and
photosynthetically active radiation. Ten 10 liter bottles are placed
around the sensors to collect water samples from various discrete
depths. The water samples are filtered to collect phytoplankton so that
flourometric and high performance liquid chromotographic (HPLC) analysis
can be run to accurately judge the amount of chlorophyll in the water.
