Molokai
Island (21° 07' N - 157° W) is called the Friendly Isle and is one of the most rural of
the Main Hawaiian Islands. Fewer than 7,000 people call the island home. The
island also hosts a National Historic Park at Kalaupapa to honor the memory of people
afflicted with Hansen's disease and the Belgian Priest (Father Damien) who lived and
worked with them at a time when society shunned them.
